Lawrence, Kansas — Central National Bank is proud to recognize Trust Officer Joe Karnes for his extraordinary commitment to supporting children and families through his long-standing involvement with Make-A-Wish Michigan.
This year, Karnes completed a remarkable 308-mile cycling journey across Michigan as part of a fundraising event benefiting children with critical illnesses and their families. The three-day ride not only tested participants’ endurance but also generated significant support for the Make-A-Wish mission.
“My team rode 308 miles in three days. Together, our team of eight riders raised just over $91,000 to grant wishes for critically ill kids and their families,” Karnes said. “In total, at this year’s bike tour, $1.7 Million dollars was raised among 420 riders!”
While completing the ride was an impressive achievement on its own, this year carried special significance. Karnes was inducted into the Make-A-Wish Michigan Hall of Fame, an honor recognizing his fundraising and cycling efforts over the past 14 years.
“Joe’s dedication to serving others extends well beyond his role at the bank,” said Sara Girard, CEO. “We are very proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the example he sets through his commitment to helping kids.”
