The year may have just started, but it’s never too early to schedule your vacation days, right? And not only can we help you save for a vacation, but we can help you figure out where to spend those days off! Here are a few fun, and fairly inexpensive, places to vacation in 2020.
Road Trip!
Here are a few destinations you can easily drive to for a quick weekend getaway!
Branson, Missouri
With plenty of shows and many other activities, Branson has something for every age group. Spend an afternoon at Silver Dollar City riding the rides, check out one of several museums or spend a night at your choice of live entertainment! With Branson being close in proximity to many of our customers, a quick weekend trip to Branson is a weekend well spent.
Omaha, Nebraska
Omaha may not be considered a getaway for some of our customers, as we have offices there. But for our Kansas customers and employees, Omaha has quite a lot to offer. Omaha may be best known for their zoo, which is fun for all ages and worth a visit, but the city has more to offer in entertainment for all ages. Enjoy dinner in the old market, take a walk along the river or visit one of many museums!
Destinations for Nature Lovers
Do you like camping? Camping is one of the more affordable ways to travel because it’s easy to find low cost places to stay if you have gear. If you don’t, you can still book a cabin at many state parks or get a cabin at a KOA. Many times a cabin will be less costly than a hotel. Where do we go? If you’re looking to leave the state, we recommend…
Colorado
When it comes to enjoying nature, the state of Colorado is perfect for all activities. The Rockies are beautiful any time of year. There’s skiing, hiking and camping that can be done all throughout the state. It would be a disservice to point out a single city, or area of the state to visit, but you can find ski resorts and campgrounds almost anywhere in the Rockies. If you visit Colorado you’ll certainly find your way into making some great memories. And at a reasonably inexpensive price, especially in the summertime.
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
While this destination is a little further away than the others we’ve mentioned so far, it’s still one to consider. Especially if you’re looking to spend some time outdoors. Hike one of many trails, sing your favorite campfire songs or take a guided tour by horseback as you explore the grounds. Yellowstone is the perfect place to get away from work stress and listen to the birds chirp.
Don’t Forget Your Boarding Pass!
Check out these other popular destinations! These trips may be a little more expensive than the rest because of airfare, but a road trip is also a possibility for these options.
Chicago, Illinois
For as big a city as Chicago is, it’s actually not that expensive to fly there, and there is plenty to do. While it can get pretty cold in the winter, there is no shortage of activity in the city the rest of the year. From an afternoon at a Cubs game in the friendly confines of historic Wrigley Field to the city’s infamous St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the spring or any number of festivals in the summer you’re sure to find something that sparks your interest all without breaking the bank! (P.S. Don’t forget to try the world famous Chicago deep dish pizza!)
San Antonio, Texas
A trip to San Antonio will certainly have you remembering the Alamo. Take an opportunity to see one of the country’s great landmarks, check out the San Antonio Zoo or spend a day at your pick of theme parks with the kids. If that’s not your speed, spend a day relaxing by the River Walk. While it can get pretty toasty in the summer, San Antonio certainly has something for all ages!
There are so many places to see and so little time to see them! So you better start planning your next trip. Safe travels!
