Topeka, Kan. — Central National Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of John Legg to Senior Vice President of Retail.
Since joining Central National Bank in 2013 as Branch Manager, playing an instrumental role in opening the bank’s Topeka Walmart location, Legg has consistently demonstrated a passion for serving customers and strengthening communities. Throughout his career with Central, he has advanced through several key leadership roles, including In-Store Regional Manager in 2016 and Regional Retail Manager in 2020.
A 1998 graduate of Kansas State University, Legg further strengthened his leadership expertise through completion of the Bank Leaders of Kansas program in 2018.
“I am incredibly honored and grateful to be stepping into this role,” said Legg. “I was given the opportunity to grow professionally within Central National Bank through great mentors, talented peers, and an amazing retail team over the years. I look forward to sharing these experiences and continuing to build strong relationships internally and externally through a genuine joy of interacting with people!”
“We are thankful to have such a loyal, talented, and committed employee to step into this important role,” said Sara Girard, CEO. John has always been a favorite with customers and colleagues, and his service-first philosophy gives us excellent leadership of the critical channels that our customers rely on most for their banking services.”
Outside of the bank, Legg enjoys spending time with his three daughters, Taylor, Caralee, and Hayley. He also enjoys golfing and traveling with family and friends. “As a community bank very focused on the custom needs of each community, our retail banking leader has to understand that each community has different dynamics. John is knowledgeable of all of the Central National Bank markets and well-equipped to support and encourage the local leadership of each community to provide the highest level of service, volunteerism, and investment,” said Girard.
