The information breach at Marriott hotels has been all over the news lately. There was a large amount of information that was compromised, but there has not yet been confirmation about the type of information that was stolen, or how the breach will affect Marriott customers. Because of that uncertainty you’re bound to be asking yourself whether you’ve done business with Marriott, and whether you should be worried about the crooks having your account and personal information. Before you panic, we wanted to make you aware of a few ways that we can help you monitor your accounts.

STEP 1 – Log in to Central Online Banking and navigate to the MoneyCentral tab. STEP 2 – Next, use MoneyCentral to “Set up Alerts” for all accounts. These could be balance alerts, or minimum purchase amount alerts; so you’ll be aware of any unusual activity immediately after it happens. Immediate notice is crucial to putting a stop to fraud.
STEP 3 – Finally, do a transaction search in MoneyCentral for “Marriott,” “Ritz,” “Starwood,” or “SPG,” to see any recent account transactions from these Marriott-related companies. If you find any, you’ll know to be more vigilant about transactions on those particular accounts. That’s the point when you want to confirm the transactions were yours and make certain to follow up with Marriott to find out more about how you can protect your information. You can also contact your bank, credit union or credit card company to learn more about protecting yourself from fraud related to the Marriott breach.
Text banking is another way you can monitor your account using the services we offer to our customers. You can set up this service by downloading our mobile app and creating various alerts ranging from purchase monitoring to daily balance alerts. This convenience can help make a chaotic situation much more manageable. It also gives you a little peace of mind to know that an expert is there to offer advice.
